I’ll stand by you

You sit there by the window,

lost in a world of your own.

 

You roll the sleeves of your shirt,

oblivious to how it takes my breath away.

 

You say you don’t care for yourself

and that you expect me to be okay with it.

 

Oh how I wish you’d see yourself from my eyes!

Only then would you see how precious you are.

 

Only if you would try to do something for once,

I know you’d shine like a diamond in the rough.

 

Only if you’d be ready to take a chance,

you’d know that I’ll stand by you, always.
