What if I open my heart up to you?
Would you embrace it,
or would you demolish the leftover pieces,
just like everyone else did?
Would you accept its faults and insecurities,
along with its kindness and compassion,
or would you take advantage of its innocence,
and then leave me to fend for myself?
Would you keep my secrets safe,
or would you showcase it on a stage
for the world to see?
Would you let me in like I did you,
or will I have to be content
with being a mere spectator,
gazing through window sills?
P.S.-
Wrote this for a poetry challenge that I found online. Let me know what you think of this poem!

The one thing about poetry is that readers love when it speaks to them, they grade emotion, flow and description and I read all of it in this. I read and re read it and found myself answering the questions because this was written with such emotional beauty. The description of the heart and curiosity of how your feelings would be treated if you were to open your heart up, such a warm feeling. Questions and almost answers at the same time in this poem gives this piece a beautiful lasting feeling to the reader. So genuine lovely🌹
