White Knight

You’re not my white knight

in a shining armor.

I thought it was you,

but you’re not.

I was wrong.

You’re just the person

whom I love,

even though you

never come to my rescue.

You’re the one ,

whom I expect nothing from.

You’re the one who can

hurt me, over and over again,

and yet, I’ll love you.

I know that we don’t need anyone else to save us… that we’re all we need. But we can’t deny that there are times when we’re just too tired, and when we just want to sit back while someone else saves us. Do you think it’s always the person that we’re in love with, who’s destined to be the one who’ll help us in saving ourselves from our demons? Share your thoughts below!

Love is a gamble, count on the one who is not just capable of saving you… But also is willing to risk his everything to sustain the bond. Nonetheless wonderfully well articulated post!

You are so very right lovely, so very correct. We all need a hero at times and wanting to be rescued isn’t a sign of needing but it’s just one wanting that verification every once in a while to know they’re not alone and to know someone is thinking of them. Love comes in all forms which is why it grows, it’s not a choice but it’s a feeling. If we could choose who to fall in love with, things would be easy. But you tend to meet those special people in the most unique places and those are the ones who usually end up rescuing you when you least expect it and you end up loving it. White Knights aren’t always the ones who shine, we oft see better when we close our eyes and open our hearts. Your heart is amazing and you’ve saved a few people and I know the same would do for you.
