Out of My Mind

Sometimes, I just want to cave in

and I don’t want to face the world.

 

Sometimes, I just want to scream

and I don’t want anyone to hear.

 

The whole world, ever ready to

knock me down every time I get up.

 

Tears stream down my red cheeks

and there’s no one to see, or care.

 

I feel so vulnerable, so insecure,

like I’m standing naked in front of a crowd.

 

I don’t know why I do this, why I crumble down

like I’m nothing, like I don’t matter.

 

I won’t say this out loud and you know it

but please, understand that I need you.

 

Please hold me while I try and get a hold of myself,

Please just don’t leave me alone…
