A Beautiful Sight

I’m so tired.

This world around me
continues to wear me down.
Exhausted I am.
Tired I am of fighting.

In this world so beautiful,
a little dark speck I am,
keeping this world from
being flawless.

Oh what a sight it would be,
me hanging from the ceiling,
a rope tied around my neck
with a wrist bleeding red.

What a pity it is
that I can never witness
this beautiful sight; for I’ll
be a cold piece by then.

I’m so tired that I can’t
keep my eyes open anymore.
So, I’m gonna close my eyes,
hoping they never open again.

P.S.-

Depression kills someone every minute and before that ultimate death, it kills the person slowly, painfully, mercilessly, everyday.

  1. My dear Sonali, only a tiny percentage of humanity is happy. Most of us fight everyday to find that tiny bit of space where we feel good. Petting the dog, hearing the birds, watching sunup or sunset, in a word, looking outside ourselves for just a few moments and feeling peace. I am an observer, looking for the good in humanity, and there is a ton. We have an onslaught of info every day, that overwhelms and depresses us. Nature, silence, peace

I totally agree with you on that. People find true happiness only in these little things that nature provides.

Intriguing piece lovely, from the perspective of the suffering. The one who longs that deep dream, that forever sleep, the sleeping beauty. It’s too bad that one doesn’t realize the pain that they are causing others as well but yet no one understands the pain they are going through. Depression is real but it can be helped with understanding and attention. This poem pointed out signs of how some people feel and it just hits the heart and lets you know that no one should feel invisible. This was the perfect eye opener to a beautiful sight for people to see an issue that does exist that can change. A word can go a long way.🌹. Wonderful poem!

You said it beautifully Roy 🙂
And sometimes, the people going through this know what their death will do to others but sometimes their pain is too much for them to bear.
      Thanks ,🙂🌹

  3. The world around does wear people out because noone can really understand what the other person is feeling. The world says ‘snap out of it’ or ‘get over it’. Those comments never help at all. Well written poem, thought provoking and so true.

A person can’t understand the pain unless he goes through it. And when I say, believe me, I understand your pain.

  4. A powerfully written piece. Yes, depression is taking away so many people who are cutting their lives too short, too early.

This was poignant and brilliant writing Sonali

      1. On these last two poems you wrote, you have touched on important subjects. I hope it is you trying to bring awareness to the world, and not anyhting you yourself are feeling.

Let’s just say that it doesn’t matter what I feel. There are thousands and millions of people who feel like this. Their feelings matter more than mine. After all, I’m just me, nothing more.
