I saw you today

on

I saw you today,

sitting on the fence

of that playground

we used to play in.

You had this whole mystery

vibe coming off of you,

and you know how

I love that about you.

You must have caught many eyes

with that grey shirt, black jacket on.

I wonder if you noticed the girls

who were swooning over you.

You were oblivious to everything

but everyone was aware of you.

The breeze blew, caressed your hair

making me so jealous.

I saw your eyes glistening.

I wonder if that was

a tear of our memories,

or just the shine of your eyes.

The letter in your hand,

that you held with such love,

reminded me of how you

used to hold my hand.

I wonder who gave you that letter,

or was it for me?

But what could possibly be there

that you can’t say to my face?

I know I never said this enough

but you always meant to me

more than the world,

more than you can ever imagine.

Do you miss me?

Everything we had?

Everything we were

for each other?

I know you won’t believe me,

you think I’ve moved on.

But, I still miss you

every single moment.

I still get jealous when I

think of you with someone else.

I still get worried when I

hear that you’re not doing well.

I’m sorry I walked away

when I saw you today.

I just can’t have you knowing

that I still love you.

I couldn’t let you see in my eyes

or you would have known

how much I still care for you,

I hope you understand.

The leaves were falling

as elegantly as you took

my hand that night

by the lakeside.

I wonder if you still recall

that day, when you said

that you’ll be forever mine

if I’ll be yours.

Anyway, I just wanted to say

that you still look beautiful.

I hope you find an escape

from this pain.

I hope you find somebody

who’s better than me.

I hope you find somebody,

somebody who’s not me.

The feeling that went into this, so easy to be in the place of the person because it’s so relatable. It’s like a spirit having unfinished business on Earth, it can’t move on. And to sit and wish happiness from afar is the tragedy because the wisher won’t be happy once their wish is granted. And the end is is a lovely set because it a sacrifice, it takes the burden blaming themselves as if they were the problem and hoping the person finds someone not like them. Sometimes the one who is willing to lie on the sword are the ones worth dying for. This was a lovely poem, very emotional lovely, I read it twice to soak it in.🌹🌹
