My Muse

on

Oh my muse, where have you gone,

leaving me out here,

all alone in this

wilderness?

Last night, you were

right here beside me,

keeping me warm

from the cold outside.

As the dawn broke,

my eyes opened to find

not your strong arms holding me,

but a never ending terrain of emptiness.

I need you, my muse.

Oh, only if you were here,

I wouldn’t have to look at this

cold, heartless screen.

Oh how mercilessly he laughs at me,

and watches me give in;

But little does he know

that I’ll still rise.

Oh my muse, stay true to me

as I am to you;

And please return to me,

as I would to you.

Note-

Currently, I can’t think of anything. Seems like writer’s block finally got to me and it’s so frustrating to not be able to write. But after hours of looking at the blank screen, and typing up some meaningless words and then erasing it, I wrote something!

    🌹🌹. Bravo!! I love the part where you said you will still rise, I love inner strength because your muse can be in you. Lovely poem. And writers block is simply the heart skipping a beat, it comes back.πŸ˜‰

  3. Writing to me is like remembering something or someone’s name. The more I try to remember, the more likely it is I will not remember. Likewise, I never worry about writing. In college, when I was forced to write something, or in the business world when I had to write something, it was more of a struggle. So, maybe think about anything else, if an idea pops up, put the first few lines in your phone or on a memo pad till you can get back at it. Relax, your muse has not left you. πŸ™‚
