Everyone said,
“Don’t do it;
You’ll regret it.”
It was me;
Naive
too incompetent
to know
that they were right.
A fairytale,
I thought it was;
A nightmare,
it turned into.
Why didn’t I
listen to them?
Why didn’t I
just let him go?
Why did I have to
fall in love with him?
Why him?
Why not someone else?
This pain
so intense;
so merciless.
Will I be able
to survive this?
I doubt it.
Why did it
have to be him?
Why did it have to be
the one whom I could never hate?
Why him?
Just me 
Sometimes we have to make a mistake to get it right the second time. They say the heart must first be broken before it can be opened to someone. The heart and and mind aren’t always on the same page. An emotional write that can be a lesson to many.🌹
